Scams on Ebay!

This is the second time that I got scammed from some guy in Hong Kong selling model kits. At the time that I paid for my kit, he only had few negative feedbacks. but, now, there are over 150 nasty comments for him and he's not a registered ebay member anymore. I paid with bidpay, and they wont do anything to get my money back.

I wont be buying anymore kits from Ebay, and you guys should be careful too.

So you bought a kit from someone who already hadn't sent you a kit you paid for? Don't get me wrong, scammers in general suck, but there's an old saying..."Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." Hope they weren't expensive kits!

buy from people with like 100% positive feedback. i generally stay away from the Hong Kong sellers because 1. i don't trust them and 2. shipping is as much as the kit.

I have had this a few times, luckly I have always used Paypal, and they have always got the money back for me.

I never had problems with ebay, you gotta look out for good feedback, also i intend on staying away from international auctions. I did however get two kits from japan, but had trouble with shipping (too Long) and too expensive. If your in doubt then don't bid! Sorry to hear that.

Ive brought kits of a seller called Tom China in Hong Kong. Never had a problem, always well packed, and when you can pick up top kits for £7 + pastage it still works out cheaper for some kits from him then from a UK shop.

But he has great feedback. I've brought a few kits from the UK, and been well ripped.. Paid too much for a MP/14, and got a testarossa with the egnine started.. Seller said it was mint, never touched.. Photo was for a new kit, whereas the one I got was not.. Must have got the picutre from somewhere else, so I got fooled there..

I've bought loads from TOmchina never any problems. Only ever had 2 probs on eBay. 1, a 1/12 Testarossa from USA to UK, but no wheel or chrome. 2, a Tamiya VW New Beetle, MINT, without Glass, and some other parts, and half completed, but photo showed, complete unstarted model. You never can tell, its complete luck with eBay

i never had a problem with Sangpolly in HK but really was only saving like 2 or 3 dollars after shipping. didnt really see the point after awhile so i no longer use Ebay unless im researching. HLJ i would save about 7 to 8 dollars and get it before release in US but again, after while i decided i would rather wait and support local business (my LHS) and it paid off, they go out of there way to get me stuff now and i get OK price but only a few dollars under MSRP. i also order 5-10 kits at a time. Local business support means local economy which means more money for you. though i have to admit, my after market supply sucks, need rims and Satsuka detail parts bad

More important, buy from ebayer that have good feadback LATELY.

I also had bad experience once with a seller that had 99.7%, over 3000 good feedback. It had few bad the last week and then he had about 100 bad... He got banned after that.

So Rating don't mean anything, just look the feedback lately.

If You paid by Paypal, just do a charge-back.

No! That would be stupid! It was a different person(ebay ID) but same situation. They'll do business for awhile with good feedbacks(+500), and at the end, they collect money and never send products. Both of them were from Hong Kong. I'm pretty sure this guy will do it again.

I've never had a problem with ebay... usually the feedback helps judge a lot about the person. All my kits were from US sellers, and one from japan.

I only big off people with 98% or better feedback, and I always read there feedback before I decide to bid on something, I rarely use EBAY, and only have 6 feedback points in 2 years. but i'm at 100%. i'm waiting till I get to 10+ feedback points before I start selling

I've gotten a few good deals on EBay, I never bid from anyone unless there in the U.S. My best deals where a Tamiya Toyota bB kit for $13, and a Tamiya Porsche 911 Carrara 4 kit for $17

I got scammed for $100 on a Peugeot 306 R/C car. He also used Bidpay but must be a different guy (Or username at least) because he had tons of good feedback and then 30 negatives in less than a month before he left.

The worst part is that I'll get like $30 back because Ebay doesn't cover shipping in their fraud settlement, and they take $25 out as a fee.

I'm still holding out hope I was one of the people who DID get their stuff shipped before whatever happened, happened.

I always check the price, as usually if the price is too good to be true, then it usually is. For instance I was watching 2 brand new Pocher models being sold as the one item, the block waited till the price was about £1000, then said that he had mislisted, and only had the one to sell. I saw the same block do the same thing a few weeks later, with a rare Rosso model. Feedback is not a good reference, as quite often they threaten you that if you leave them negative feedback then they will leave it for you, even if you have done nothing wrong.
