trans fluid question

Hi, I have a 1993 Ford Ranger 3.0 with a 5-speed manual trans. I recently changed my trans fluid, and used Castrol Dex III/Mercon ATF. Now when I accelerate, it seems as though the trans is jumping. Any ideas?

Re: trans fluid question

If I were you I'd be checking into what damage automatic trans. fluid does to a manual trans. I don't believe that it's a good thing though.

The M5OD trans takes Mercon ATF (as do most newer ford manual trans). The problem has since went away...
