No knowledge on amps/subs, heres the deal I'm given.

So I have a buddy, not friend, but someone I know who is selling his amp and subs. I told him I was interested (I need some low end), and heres what he has. I'm curious if its any good... Now remember, I'm not looking for power, just some low end response.

2 10" Rockford fosgate subs with box
and a (he thinks) VR3 400watt 4 channel amp

All of this for $200

Is it worth it?

VR3 amps are the crap you buy at walmart depending on the model of the mtx's it might be worth it to buy it and then take the amp to a pawn shop and get a better mono amp dedicated for the subs instead of a 4 channel.

they would give some low end, but the VR3 amp (i have one) pretty much sucks. if your mains are amped, they will definately overpower the subs on that amp. those subs, depending on the stage (higher is better), would be ok for you if you aren't an audiophile. what kind of box?
