Painting Flat Black Window Trim
Hi Folks,
The flat black trim around the windows on my 2002 is looking pretty bad. Can someone suggest what type of spray paint (in a spray can) I should use?? And, should I use a primer first or just sand and shoot?? Thanks for any suggestions out there!! Rob Roy |

Krylon works well.
Optimally you should sand and prime. My car has high mileage and pitted paint. On it I would just skim it with sandpaper and paint. If it was a show car I would do a much more complete job or have it done by a Pro ( complete super pro paint job +/- $5000.00., more than the car is worth). |

Re: Painting Flat Black Window Trim
Why do all of the cheap paint shops have to be 100+ miles from me?

Because you don't live in a city, and I don't either. Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC about an hours ride so no problem there. But I understand where you're coming from, it's getting someone to follow you there and bring you back, then when it's ready get someone to take you to get it. You should contact some rental car companies and see how much a small car costs for a few days because a cheap paint job shouldn't take more than three days. Or, take it there then ride the bus home and when it's ready ride the "Hound" bus to go get it. |
