Towing my 1993 SR-5 4x4 Manual 5 Sp.

Does any one know about towing my 1993
SR-5 Manual 5-sp. behind my motorhome?
Some say put it in Neutral both transfer case and
tranny, which makes since.....some say leave in
2-Hi and neutral........some say install manual
conversion kit on front hubs.
Would sure like the input from someone that has
acctually TOWED one behind their rig.....
Thanks Al.

Remove front and rear driveshafts and cover up the tailpiece of the tranny with plastic and ducktape. lock and tie the steering wheel with rope to the seat anchor post to hold it(dont't rely on the wheel cylinder lock), if using a tow dolly just remove the rear driveshaft and cover the tranny tailpiece and tow from the front!

Re: Towing my 1993 SR-5 4x4 Manual 5 Sp.

I flat tow my Runner all the time when I go wheeling.

Just disconnect the rear DS at the diff and tie it to the frame. No need to completely remove it.

Put tranny in Neutral and t-case in 2 High, not 4 High. When the t-case is in Neutral it is disconnected from the tranny, BUT it is now in 4WD too. While it really shouldn't make a difference if the rear DS is disconnected, I cosider it additional protection.

And if you have manual hubs in front unlock them of course.
