The Exotics Showroom Diorama of my dreams

First off! This project was started for a meet im having on the 17th of this month (dec) Plans kicked off in late nov. First idea was that i joined 4-5 fujimi garage kits together , as i was thinking and planning , i found myself thinking of getting a wood base to support it. A day after that , i found myself having so many ideas and this is what im aiming for.
A Showroom with 3 main buildings . Two of the building which will be placed , one on each side (unpainted grey ones in picture) will have 2 panels "glass" 2 sides wall and a solid ceiling.. the middle building will be fully "glass" including the roof ( painted black currently) in the space in between each building will be a grass patch , with a small bridge linking the buildings together which will be glass as well. I plan to make 2 surrounding light lamps to make the diorama look more well designed and life like.
The walls on the two buildings will be covered with white vinyl and the flooring of all 3 buildings will be velvet for a exotic showroom expensive feel :X
Will be adding 1/24 , 1/4 scale models for display... :P (Gallardo and Murcielago)
Materials:
Wood base
2 X Plastic board
4 X Foam board
3 X 600 grit sandpaper
White LED lights
Switches
V/Resistor
Grass mat
Black Velvet vinyl
White vinyl
Wires
Copper wires
Tree making material
Glue ( CA , White etc)
Etc etc...

Basic materials

This was around day 2 of the work done... I layed down the base , made the pathway out of foam board then use white glue and very small rocks with is a mixture of (granite , white coloured rocks and lava rocks) to get this effect. Part of the grass was laid down as well to see the effects.

The bushes which will be used. I having to cut down the stems to make them look more like bushes instead of trees heh!

Left bag are the rocks and right is sand which will be used to make things more realistic for the laying of the bushes

Day 3 :
Basically what im doing here is to lay the markings for the location of the 3 buildings then ill cover the rest with the grass mat.

Here , is how it looks with all the structures up.

The middle building will be like a glass "box" to display the best exotic model. And as such it needs exotic lighting. So i made 4 White LED "spotlights" Basicially its just the LED slotted into a nice metal holder to make it look like spotlights

Here is the first one drilled in.

The murcielago and its mini model

The mini version will be placed on a display stand which i will make

The test look of the bush

I use acrylic tubes to make this "pathway" lamps , Basically just cut from a long tube to about your desired height

The bottom will be painted and the top will be clear so.Dont worry ! Ill make a cover for it as well.

Thats all for now.. I actually posted on my murcielago thread that ill enter the murcielago and this diorama as my entry for the contest... hopefully everything goes smoothly and i can finish in time !
Cheers ! and wish me luck~!

Re: The Exotics Showroom Diorama of my dreams

looks really good, can you show some detailed pictures of the lighting source / wiring / LED setup?

Did the LED setup start out as something else, or did you fab up the whole wiring etc?

I tell you the same thing, I always tell the modelers whose energy and steam towards priojects I envy...I hate you! Now itīs official. Question adding to this: Do you happen to have robots or some little helpers since you have the time and ambition of doing all you show us on the board???

Re: The Exotics Showroom Diorama of my dreams

Godfather > Thanks ! , I think :P

NOMADGAMER > The wiring is just the leds connected to a variable resistor and connected to batteries... pretty simple , once u get the hang of it.

Managed to do up the wiring for all 4 LEDs . They are connected to a variable resistor with a knob so i can dim or brighten the led lights.

I used machine to sand and smoothen the acrylic tube edges.

F430 with Bersaglio rims , i think they are very nice!

Thats all for now..! Super tired... hadnt have much sleep lately
