1988 Lemans 1.6 litre

This car has started popping and sputtering at idle. When accelerating it misses and runs real rough, unless you have the throttle more than 3/4 depressed. car runs real strong when it does run good. Just replaced distributor, plug wires, plugs, timing belt, msd coil, all filters. These items were installed due to the rough running. They didn't make a difference. Thinking that it has to be something in the ignition system, but the only thing left is the ecu. Could that be the culprit? Moving the distributor around doesn't make a difference but does kill top end hp. Also the car idles between 1200 and 1500 rpm even when warm.

I must inform you that this is a racecar, not driven on street much.

Car has 185-190 cranking psi on all 4 cylinders. which I think is good, but am not sure because the head was cut .020. what would be a good stock cranking pressure?

Sorry for this post being so long but, I thought if anyone could help it would be you guys. TIA

Re: 1988 Lemans 1.6 litre

still having problems with this car, I raced last night and now it is falling on its face when throttle is in any position from right off idle to wide open at about 6800 rpms. Still have the same cranking psi and getting good spark when testing at the plugs. any help will be greatly appreciated.
