a/c compressor help
I'm replacing the a/c compressor in my 96 s-10 with the 4.3L and i know how to do it but i'm not shure about the freon, do i just disconect the lines from the compressor or do i have to take the freon out of it before i do that????

Federal law requires that you use a refridgerant recovery system to remove the R-12(or 134a depending on what you have in your vehicle) to a recovery tank. With the price of R-12 being what it is today you will want to filter and reuse your old refridgerant.

That's true and most compressor manufacturers require you to replace the reciever/drier/accumulator for the warranty to be in effect. I did say "R-12(or 134-a....)".
