They should make....

Airbrush bottles without inside corners. Cleaning the paint out of those jars is needlessly difficult, and as an added bonus, if the bottom was curved, all the paint would pool in the bottom and it would feed better.

What tool improvements do you think are needed? We all want perfecto self leveling paint and anti gravity devices to keep our fresh painted bodies from the floor, but seriously, when you're using a tool and something just bugs you - what would you do about it?

My dad has a quick release knife, you push on the non-blade end, and it falls aside and released the blade. I can't for the life of me find it online right now, though. I wonder if they stopped due to safety reasons?

Re: They should make....

Yeah, I used to have one of those quick-release XActos. The base of the knife had the metal knurled piece that pivoted 90 degrees and released the blade at the other end. When you returned the mechanism inline w/the knife body it would catch/hold the blade. Pretty nifty, but then again I never had problems w/the old-fashioned method either. I don't know if they still make them, perhaps over time the tension slipped and the blades came out too easy?

I hate bottles that tip over too easily. Why is it that it's so damned easy to spill a bottle of Ambroid Pro Weld? It's like it's designed to spill. And it does! And when you spill it and your furiously trying to get everything out of it's path and right the bottle so you don't lose it all, you're about to pass out from the fumes Seriously, a simple change to the shape of that damned bottle (make it a pyramid like nail polish) and it could save the life of a model or it's creator. Or someone make some sort of simple base to stick the bottle into so it's portable and safe from spilling.

And why can't I use an ENTIRE container of superglue before it dries up? I have never, ever been able to use it all. Sell it in smaller containers! And give me three replaceable tips per container. Who in the hell can use those ginormous bottles of superglue? It never lasts!

And someone please make a PRECISION paint nozzle for Testors cans! Jeebus. Just copy Tamiya but with the stem fitting Testors cans and sell 'em in a 10 pack. Testors paint isn't all that bad if you can get past the crappy nozzles.

I would kill for Testors to re-introduce the Polly S Metalline acrylics. They were the ONLY acrylics available in fine metallic shades that were suitable for brush painting. They are magnificent. And when Testors bought Polly S, they dropped them. I f'ing HATE Testors for doing that. So anyone...please, bring out some DECENT acrylic metalizers that are suitable for detail painting with a brush. We don't always need/want to get out the airbrush. Tamiya metallic acrylics SUCK for brush painting. So do Testors Acryl.

Speaking of acrylics, why can't they make them spray as nicely as lacquers? I'd switch in a heartbeat if they'd simply lay down as nicely. Flats are one thing, but gloss acrylics just don't cut it like lacquers/enamels/polyurethanes.

And I would also love for someone to bring out smaller containers of Evercoat polyester putty. Forget Tamiya, I hate the stuff...it's slow to cure and has caused me agony with my dehydrator and causing paint blisters-I happily threw that garbage away. Evercoat is like superglue, one can NEVER use a container before it dries up. I'd pay 1/2 the price of a quart of Evercoat for a half pint of it that I might use up before it dries up.

Re: They should make....

Not quite whaty Willimo had in mind, I suspect but for my 2cents I'd like to see ALL aftermarket PE makers switch to rubber backed technology.

That means we would no longer need to remove those teeny weeny things from metal sprues and then sand off the little nub that I ALWAYS seem to leave no mater how hard I try not to. An added benefit would be less PE frisbees scimming across the workshop
