Lowering on 18s
Im getting 18s in a month. 18/215/40. My car is an EBP 99 SiR. How much can i lower the car without rubbing my tires on the fenders, what if i remove the fenders, how much space would that give me. I want to lower the car around 2.5 inches to 3 all around. Doable? I know the ride is going to be shitty and slow...but i wanna look nice for a while...
By the way, im getting Enkeis 18 inch white rims, so it should look pimpish...ill post pictures when i install them have it lowered and put my wing and my angel eyes on, along with detailing all the car so it looks new...3,000 U.S bye bye.

Re: Lowering on 18s
^^^LOL
You will have to roll the fenders more than likely with a 2.5" drop. Taking out the splashguards inside will eliminate the rubbing part. You'll be tucking tire with a 3" drop on 18s, too low for me.

Re: Lowering on 18s
Do your car and your future bank accound a favor. Get some 15 or 16's. you will hate the 18s after a while.

I have 16x7 wheels running 215/45 16 tires on it and with my ~2" drop, I rub the inside of the wheel wells especially if I have my steering wheel at full lock in either direction. In fact my turning radius DECREASED once I went from my 6.5 with "15's to my current 16's. With "18 wheels and that tire width you're going to have serious rubbing problems. I honestly would not lower your car if you're that concerned about it, because the space you have is very little to lower on.

Re: Lowering on 18s
You might not rub. I have 94teg dropped 4.25 inches on 17s and i dont have any problems rubbing, even with my wheels turned all the way. With 18s you probably will rub though. My only frustration is finding a camber kit to handle the drop in the rear. I personally wouldnt put 18s on your civic. Alphalanos is right about regreting it later. IMO 18s dont look right on hondas unless its an s2000 or you have greatly altered the exterior(clean body kit/lip kit, hood, etc.). 15s/16s/17s all look good but 18s are too much.

Re: Lowering on 18s
I personally wouldn't do 18s but that's what you want so go for it man. Go with a 2" drop and of course you'll have to be careful driving but it won't be too bad. Here's my accord with 17" Enkeis with a 2" drop, it was perfect for me
![]() then I went air and I could drop the rear from 1-3" and the front from 1-5", here's 3" and 5" ![]()

Re: Lowering on 18s
i have skunk2 coilovers w/ tokico illumina shocks/struts. i think im gonna raise it up an inch. I hate having to be so careful driving everywhere. and i wanna be able to pull into driveways again. it does handle really well though.
