New Rims

A friend of mine has some rims that he is selling. They are 5 lug, 17" chrome Motegi MR7's. They have tires all ready mounted on them. Does anyone know if they will throw off my spedometer on my cavy? He said the tire size is 215-45. Oh and they came off a PT Cruiser. Thanks!

The last time I checked it will screw your speedo up. There is a 5 mile difference per inch if I remember corectly.so say you have 17's and your doing 35 according to your speedo, your accually doing 40.

Re: New Rims

Or just use this here tire size diamiter checker/speedo check and see if it will do anything.

In most cases since you are going up in rim size most people end up getting low pro tires. In most instances souch as 17's with low pro tires the difference in stock size to after market size is little to none. I went from 14" steelies to 17's and had no difference in size thanks to compensating with the tires.
