New best ET---Car has issues however
So it was a bitter/sweet day. Car ran its best ever ET and I was pretty good on the tree for the most part: 6.552 @ 102.864 mph. In fact, it ran in the 6.50s 4 of 5 passes. However, that last pass was a 6.719 @ 99.607 mph.
Its developed a vaccum leak somewhere (I hope thats all it is anyways). After Id make a run and shut it down and throw it in nuetral, the idling would start running away. The last pass I made, it was ideling over 3000 rpms in nuetral. So its sucking air somewhere and/or the distributor has tore up and is advancing the time and/or some valves or off. IT about has to be somethign like that. Regadless, here's my 5 runs (2 time runs, 3 eliminations) from today: RT: -.026 60ft: 1.421 330ft: 4.185 (new best) 1/8th: 6.552 (new best) mph: 102.864 RT: .020 60ft: 1.411 330ft: 4.187 1/8th: 6.556 mph: 102.776 Dial: 6.55 RT: .016 60ft: 1.420 330ft: 4.203 1/8th: 6.586 mph: 102.080 (lost) Dial: 6.57 RT: .072 (other car flickered his stage bulbs, distracted me, but it automatically red lighted him, so I won) 60ft: 1.433 330ft: 4.214 1/8th: 6.595 mph: 102.261 Dial: 6.59 RT: .006 60ft: 1.453 330ft: 4.284 660ft: 6.719 mph: 99.607 (lost-had the other car killed though on the tree, but whatever has happened to the car really f-ed me on that pass, so I lost). In the car's defense on that last round, it spun HORRIBLY when it shifted. I mean it literally started to come around on me. However, as you can see the 60' was still off a pretty good lot, as was the mph (although I can understand the mph being off). And the spinning doesn't explain the fast, running away idle after the car gets warm. Hopefully its one of the things I mentioned above, and not something major. I mean it felt strong on that last pass and I did have to "drive" it a pretty good lot when it shifted, but something just ain't right with little Casper .

Man, I now vote you most 'not paying attention' member now. He's posted his full build a few times now, it's all 383. Minimal power adder. Unless you call super high compression and a cam that has close to an inch in lift a power adder... well, ok I guess they technically are.
