opti spark replacement, do you know how to?

hi guys..

FIRST OF ALL... CAN I DO IT BY MYSELF??

l have a multiple missfire on my 97 formula and l have been driving like that 2 months.

l would like to replace the opti, wires and aprak plugs but l have no idea how to!!!

do u guys think that l can do this job by myself?

l need some instructions especially with pics.. that would help a lot..

also l would like to know your experiences on this..

l tried to remove the water pump, l unbolt 5 bolts but one right next to alternator.. l couldnt reach it.. my tool didnt fit there so l couldnt remove the water pumpp.. how am l gonna remove that bolt?

also that pulley... how the hell am l gonna remove it? l just took a look and it looks like bolts and pulley together.. all rust.

someone please help me, give me some instructions (with pics, would be excellent)

Thanks

Erdal

Re: opti spark replacement, do you know how to?

my oppinion, if u are gonna be in that area of the car for the opti..and the car is that old but u still wanna get some more hp...do this.....

take out the radiator fan, or even the whole radiator if u are up for a little more of a challenge. Buy a under drive pully from BBK for like 60 bucks (more hp) and buy an electric water pump from meziere (more hp). Now, since u have all new parts, u can fuck up the old shit as much as you want trying to get it all off, lol! The old pully u should spray with penatrating oil and let it soak in for a day or two, then u have to give it some love taps with a hammer to un seize it. You will have to make cut in the fan shroud to fit the new electric pump in...u can do it with a dremel or a good razor or small saw.

You need a full ratchet set to do the jobs, but no special tools. If u feel like taking out the radiator it makes working on that part of the car so much less frustrating.

It will take maybe two full days of work as long as you have all the tools and parts ready.

Good luck!
