Subaru tuners

Here are my favorites--
www.writerguy.com/primitive/index.htm They have some really cool rally parts, extra cool hood and roof scoops, and their diff protectors are the BOMB!

www.cobbtuning.com seems to have their act together offering the total package of high performance for your Subaru.

What are you favorites, and what do you think of the two sites that I listed links to.

Teaguesauto.com. Very good one.

Man I need to find a tuner that could possibly do an STi swap in an RS if its possible. I wonder if its actually as hard/easy as some people say it is.

i have done a stage one from cobb tuning, the service was bad, the products are good, but vishnu offers the same performance for only $1k!
thats why they are at the top of my list!

WWW.VIVIDRACING.COM. A site every impreza GC8 or WRX owner ought to know about. Enormous selection of performance parts, decent prices, and just about every ground effect/styling kit available in the world with an available prepainting option.

this company is very near to where I live. they have recently come out with some mods to bring the HP up to 365 @ the flywheel and 269.8 @ the wheels. this produces 268 lbs/ft as well!

I don't like them. Me and a friend installed a piggy back for his ECU and they didn't send us half the stuff we need. They sent the chip and the harness. Nothing to secure the harness to the ECU, nothing to stick the Chip to the ECU, nothing to put the kick plate back in taking into account the new inch of room it had to make... So we ended up spending like 30 bucks and several hours at Lowes

*Edit*
I don't like the whole premade performance package idea anyway, I think you will end up with a more tunable setup of you buy and install all your parts individually. Plus you will know more on how to tune it if you've installed each part and know exactialy what it does. If you just buy a package and stick it on you can't really gauge how much each part has helped you.

both avenues have advatages and dissadvantages. the best way to start out is by keeping costs low and getting the most out of your money. if i had it to do over i would go with the stage 0 from vishnu performance. for $1k you get great results, almost a second faster to 60 and mid 13's for the 1/4 mile. then go ahead and add in the different mod's you want, piece by piece.

whats to say you wouldn't get better results from an M2 uppipe and a TurboXS chip? Vishnu's parts are definitively better over stock but the only advantage to their stage 0 kit is that they discount if you buy all the parts at the same time. To me mix and match seems the way to go but some ppl might say otherwise.. whatever.

Well if any one out there has run a 1/4 mile time w/ a Vishnu stage 0 then we can check that out I just put a turboXs piggyback and M2 uppipe on a friends WRX. If I can convince him to let me run it down the track once we can compair Personally I think that mix and match is the way to go. Sometimes it helps fitement if you buy who connected parts from the same people, but other then that...

*Edit*

Now that I think about it I haven't "just" done it... It's been a few weeks. Damn the time just slips away when you work to much

re

I agree..the mix and match thing seems to be the best way to achieve good results...sometimes other brand name products work better when they are combined with a totally diferent product.

Just my 2 cents...BTW Gonthrax...how does the car run with the piggy back ecu.... I was thinking of getting the electromotive Engine managment system...so that i can do some serious tuning.

PEACE

oh yeah if your friend ever makes a pass definately post the times if you can because an M2 uppipe paired to a TurboXS pggyback is almost an identical setup to what i'm going for in the next couple months or so

If any one needs help tunning in the Atlanta GA area you can PM me or post here. I am new to the board but not new to tunning. I present have a EJ20 Twin Turbo with a Haltech ECU.
