HELP! MAF screen replacement

Hello,

I could use some help.

I discovered the maf screen on my wifes 2002 grand prix 3.8L NA was punctured with a screwdriver or something, must have happened when I was unable to do the oil change and the quick lubes suckered her into a new air cleaner. The MAF is not damaged internally, just the screen and snap ring need to be rplaced. DOES ANYONE have a part # for just the maf screen and snap ring? The dealer could not break down the parts list. Thanks for your time and patience.

Re: HELP! MAF screen replacement

Normally the c-clip ring is re-useable and doesn't need replacement unless someone screwed it up. Good luck on getting just the throttle body screen. Last person I worked with that was missing one had to get it from the boneyard.

Depending on how bad the screen is damaged you may be OK. If it is really bad you will probably get a MAF sensor DTC error code and SES light. A lot of GP owners run without the screen thinking it gives some sort of miracle horsepower increase. I don't believe that you are dead in the water. Good luck!

Re: HELP! MAF screen replacement

the screen is GM part# 24503677, AC-Delco part number 217-1425. I stock it for $14 + s/h (dealer retail is $27.87). I work at an AC-Delco distributor in Flint, MI; and you can PM me with your Zip Code for a shipping quote if you're interested. The snap ring is not available separately, nor does it come with the screen for whatever bizarre reason. It is only available as part of a throttle body rebuild kit.

Re: HELP! MAF screen replacement

Regretfully, UPS has a minimum shipping amt to residential addresses of $8. Once you add in shipping, you could buy it at a dealer for about the same price. You can call me at work (800) 852-6933 if you're interested still. I have it on the shelf and could ship it today if you wanted to pay by credit card. We accept Visa or MasterCard, or you could mail me a money order and I'll ship the same day payment is received. For future items, PM me instead of posting on the open forums. I tried sending this on a PM, but you don't have it enabled.
