Painting Problem

Hi everyboy,

My problem is, i have painted two model car using airbrush with tamiya enamel paint, after i finish several coats and wait for 3 or more weeks than i polished, but still the paint feel not drying completly. If i use Tamiya spray can don't have such problem even using the same color. Why this happen?

Thanks for your advice.

Re: Painting Problem

Simply put, because you're using enamel. Eanmels can take an amazingly long time to harden- weeks or months are not unusual. Laquers (like Tamiya sprays) and acrylics tend to dry/cure much faster- either can usually be polished in a week

Re: Painting Problem

If you just have to use the enamel paint, thin it with lacquer thinner instead of mineral spirits. That will help speed up the dry time. It will still take a lot longer than the lacquer paints, but it helps... - Mark
