Re: popping noise in rain

Wow it only does it in the rain, that's pretty freaky, i have no idea. You should take it to the shop while it's raining so they can diagnose the car.

Re: popping noise in rain

Probably a "mini-backfire" of unburnt gas in the collector pipe(s). Normally if a motor runs like crap when it's damp out, it's broken down plug wire insulation.

Re: popping noise in rain

no, the car runs fine, just expecially when i try to stop it pops, it sounds like when things are binded so tight that they slip and catch, slip and catch, you know what i'm trying to describe...

Re: popping noise in rain

the car is running fine, not missing or anything, just only when it rains i feel and hear this binding and popping sound which sounds like it's coming from right under the gear shift. okay, do you remember those kids toys that you push around thats like a push mower that pops the little balls up in the middle of it? its that kind of popping sound but it feels like something is binding and breaking loose and binding again, 2-3 times a second

Re: popping noise in rain

get under the car and take a look... if you're getting that weird of a noise there has to be some sign of something wrong

Re: popping noise in rain

Sounds like your ABS is acting up... take a look at all teh components to make sure nothings damaged, esp. and weathersealing or weatherproofed conenctions.

Re: popping noise in rain

if it is coming from under the gear shift I wouldnt think that it would be the abs. Theres only one thing to do....get under your car and look for anything suspiscious.
