Question about a possible transmission swap

I am thinking about purchasing a 2G GSX and building it up for a fun little monster.

I really like 6 speed transmissions and was wondering what, if any, complications there would be in swapping an evo8 MR or evo9 6 speed and possibly the ACD into a GSX.

Thanks for the answers in advance.

Re: Question about a possible transmission swap

well, I guess if you dont mind having 6 reverse gears than it wont be a problem.

Re: Question about a possible transmission swap

mind explaining the mechanics? I was under the impression that they both had a 4G63T, and from what I can see they are set up similarly. So what would be the problem?

Re: Question about a possible transmission swap

The Evo engine is backwards, the trans is on the driver's side. You could swap an evo angine in but that might cost a little much.

Re: Question about a possible transmission swap

Ok, well flipping the 4g63 in a GSX would take new motor mounts and lengthening some sensor wires, but other than that, how hard would it be?

Re: Question about a possible transmission swap

You are the ultimate noob man. If you flipped a motor it would basically run backwards and it makes no sense. And there is alot more involved than mounts and wires and it would cost WAY more than its worth. You cant do it and leave it at that.

Re: Question about a possible transmission swap

lol all that for a 6 speed

6 speed BAD , 5 speed GOOD

Keep it like that, or get an RS, so no one feels bad about the molested GSX... Thanks
