03 Civic Hybrid wheels
I have stock 14" Hybrid 4x100MM wheels and tires that look kinda ugly and want to change to 17" or 18" wheels. I found a set of 18x7.5 that supposedly will fit but not sure. Anyone on here no of any larger wheel issues on hybrids I should be concerned about? tirerack.com has interactive wheel and tire simulator so you can see what it looks like with new tires and wheels on Civic Hybrid and I like the look of 17 or 18" wheels but this is only part of the story. Don't want to rub wheel well, recal speedo, mess up ride or increase noise. Any inputs appreciated.
Thanks.. |

17" and 18" should fit on your civic, you will probably need to get low profile tires for it all to fit nicely, and you want them anyway for the look and tire performance, I have some for sale if your interested, it's a rims/tires combo package, just check my posts and you can find my category, it's the Focal R3's w/ new tires, they are used but still in good condition if you are looking to save some money. Let me know if your interested or you like them. My email is [email protected] I can send you some pics and stuff to look at if you want... |

Re: 03 Civic Hybrid wheels
All of the wheels and tire sizes we have listed are direct fits for the Hybrid car. As long as you don't vary from the models listed you will have no issues. When it comes to ride quality and noise, you will have more road feel and noise going to a larger rim. If ride and noise are going to be an issue, you may want to reconsider going to a plus size. This vehicle is designed to run with a very low rolling resistance tire as well to help with fuel economy. Going to a wider sticky tire is going to defeat the purpose of the car. It will handle well but don't expect the same level of fuel economy. We sell these sizes because of demand but they don't make a lot of sense in most cases.

Re: 03 Civic Hybrid wheels
I've been looking into this for my 04 civic hybrid. If you want to keep the same tire diameter, you can't go larger than a 16. You can't go larger than a 15 if you want to find a current production tire that is near the same width. Sorry.
