I'm looking at buying an '89 XJ6 myself, about the only decent resource i've found is www.roadfly.com
Here's the Jag i'm looking at buying, it's in super shape with 138,000 miles on it. It's my Aunt's car, she just bought an '03 Jag and i'm thinking of buying her old one that she's owned since new.

Re: Looking at a 1988 XJ6
If you live where there is snow look for rust, because Jags rust easily.(Europe as much snow as us) Give all the electronics a go-over. My Dad's 88 has a fair amount of rust and the elecctronic gas cap wont open, radio is broken, power antenna wont move, wipers keep blowing fuses. But the car is a fun machine for a 6cyl.

Re: Looking at a 1988 XJ6
I would say if it has the original Jag engine and not a swapped small block I would avoid lol
That would probably be a pretty sweet car if it's an original owner and maintained well. Go for it, as long as its cheap and not your only car what's the harm |
