please help!!my brain exploded

i just smoked another ecu. my car is on the side of the highway, the city i threating to impound it. so i bought a ecu on ebay and i had it overnighted to me then i just found out that it is for an automatic. do you guys think it would work long enough to get me 175miles to home, that's it. then i can take my time to find the right one.. im way short on cash and time and towing is not an option.

You could try it, but I highly doubt it will work.

I like the creative title though.

I think it will work, but I'm not sure. I dont know why it would be different from auto to manual, the engines are the same. As long as you have it, try it out.

ECU controls the engine, not the transmission. it will work 100%, not a problem.

YEP YEP!!!

Musicman, you might want to check some things out if you keep smoking ECUs. You may have a loose ground, or overcharging alternator. Big power fluctuations are not good for ECU. My alternator shit the bed, overcharged, and took my ECU with it.
