Question Trouble with my door lock.

I've read all the treads and didn't see this door lock problem. I need your help. I own a '97 jetta with 110,000 miles. The problem is with my drivers side door. I can lock the door, but when I lock it, it want lock the rest of the doors or set the alarm system. I can only lock all the doors and set the alarm from the passengers side. Any suggestions?
thanks

Re: Trouble with my door lock.

I figured out the problem and just want to let everyone know what happened. Inside the rubber boot between the door and the car were 4 cut wires. After soldering the wires back together the problem was fixed.
