I have a 2003 Sunfire that after replacing wiring harness for ignition that was recalled by the dealer (was replaced by dealer), I now have a problem with the guages and panel lights shutting off, also the trip odometer resets it self back to orginal trip miles : ex: was at 357 reset then drove 2 miles and it reset back to 357. The dealer is now indicating (as I am over warranty that the replacement wire is not causing the problem, even though they have yet to look at it. Could this be the problem? I did not have this problem before the wires were replaced.
I went to the alldata recall and service bullitian area and it does list that there is a service bullitain on electrical harness, but no info on it. where do I go to get more info on recalls and service bullitains? |

Re: 2003 pontiac sunfire electrical problem
I don't know about the service bulletin or where you can find it but if everything worked correctly before the replacement of the wiring harness then I would say the dealer who changed it is responsible for the problem. If the dealer does not want to correct the problem then go over their heads to the district manager for GM, the process is usually posted in the back of your owners manual if you are not satisfied with the dealer or the outcome of a repair. Because this is a recall I do not believe that your warranty would have anything to do with having it repaired without charge.
