94 4.6 Belts and plugs.

How many drive belts are on a 94 T-Bird with the V8 4.6 ? And what do you think a repair shop would charge to replace them? And what type of spark plugs do you think would be good to put in ? My last oil change the guys at Wal Mart said my drive belt were loose. And I have no idea when the plugs were changed( I got it used about a years ago.I check the gas mileage at my last fill up and it was at 25.4 1/4 city driving and 3/4 highway,Thats sounds pretty good to me.It rare when I light up the rear tires.(old age on my part) and the price of gas.$2.59 (3/16/06) 100.578 miles on it.

Re: 94 4.6 Belts and plugs.

I think they might be refering to the serpentine belt and if thats the case check it for signs of wear like chunking, uneven wear, cracks, really spikey ridges that sort of thing. If it looks bad to you then replace it. If it doesnt then dont. I wouldnt be suprised if it is just fine and the guys at Wal Mart are just trying to get you. As for the plg wires Im not too sure on what to look for besides the car possibly running rough or hard to start. If they too are cracked then absolutely replace them. Motorcraft replacement wires are good 8mm wires but that can be costly (cost me a little over $100 for a set).
