GM Loss "slightly worse". Eh, who cares about a couple billion?

General Motors Corp. will widen its 2005 loss by $2 billion and restate earnings from 2000 to 2004 for accounting errors, after delaying its annual U.S. regulatory filing because of reporting issues with a mortgage unit.

The loss will be $10.6 billion rather than the $8.6 billion it reported in January, on higher costs for job cuts and aiding bankrupt supplier Delphi Corp., the Detroit-based company said in a statement Thursday.

i think that is gonna happen as well...i guess there is a reason why the koreans are making plenty money of hundais and kias...they are cheaply built with quality...i wonder how much one gets for a months salary working in an Economicly Less Developed Country......i guess america is going to have to copy them....

Re: GM Loss "slightly worse". Eh, who cares about a couple billion?

Nice way to make a come back. Go GM.

It's all losses from warrenty work which is the sad part and the only really profitable entity of GM is GMAC. That's for home loans too, not cars!

I like that, an auto manufacturer that makes it money from houses.

Re: GM Loss "slightly worse". Eh, who cares about a couple billion?

Here's whats gonna happen

1) They are going to expense EVERYTHING they can get away with, even if its better not to...Their gonna big bath it all

2) Their gonna file for bankruptcy, and absolutely rape their creditors, and rape the union. The union is gonna lose out huge

3) Their gonna come out of bankruptcy with much lower labour costs, and almost no interest expenses, be much leaner and be ready to do battle with Toyota

But when you get down to it the way to beat the competition is to offer better vehicles...lets hope they learn that
