Change of transmission?

with the mods in my last post...

---------------ORIGINAL POST-------------

hey,
now that I have your attention with that catchy title :P, I have posted before a list of mods that seemed very unrealistic and downright stupid. I have been doing some research and have made up a new list. Let me know if this sounds more realistic.

ACT XACT Streetlite flywheel
ACT Maxx Xtreme Clutch Kit
APEXi Super AFC II
DC SPORT Carbon steel strut tower bars (front)
DC SPORT Carbon steel strut tower bars (rear)
GREDDY EVO2 exhaust
GREDDY 660cc fuel injectors
GREDDY Type-S boost controller
ROTORA Crossdrilled/slotted big brake kit
AGP Turbo kit (full race turbo upgrade, race manifold T3/T4 50 trim T3/T4, .63 A/R housing, 700+HP race intercooler kit, HKS SSQV BOV, 38mm Evolution Wastegate 3" Intake)
TEIN EDFC- Electronic Damping force controller
TEIN SS (supper street) Coilovers
WALBRO 255lph HP in-tank fuel pump
NX Nitrous Express dual stage EFI system

Does this sound better than my old list? Anything I should add or drop..?
Still looking for my 500hp mark..Think that I am a lot closer to that mark now than I was with that other sh*tty list!

--------------END OF ORIGINAL POST---------------------

Will I have to change my transmission? What other transmissions are out there that can handle 450-500hp...standard transmission of course....

Thanks for any input

Re: Change of transmission?

Depends on what kind of shape your stock tranny is in. If its in fairly good shape and you don't beat on it, it should work for gettin around. But, if you wanna give it all its got then you could have TRE or Shepherd build you a racing tranny. I had a stage 1 tranny from Shep and it was awesome. Now I have a stage 2 but haven't gotten the car running yet to see how much better it is. He told me this stage 2 should handle running up to 10,000rpm shifts, which is good if you are running a bigger turbo that doesn't fully spool until like 4,000-5,000rpm.

Re: Change of transmission?

Yeah, stock should work up to and past 500hp. I wouldnt change it until you blow it though, I think some have been known to make it pretty high in HP before blowing. I second the Shep tranny, probably stage 2 or 3 depending on how deep your pockets are. It seemed to me that stage 1 is basically a stock rebuild, but 2 and 3 are a little more "performance" (even though the stage 1 should do you fine).

Re: Change of transmission?

my stage 1 had a few things beefed up a little. Of course due to a certain mechanic who put the wrong oil in it my 3-4 gearset went out and took out my input shaft too. Now my stage 2 is a monster! I can't wait to beat the shit out of it. lol

***EDIT***
It was due to a mechanic putting the wrong tranny fluid in that I now do all the work on my car myself.

Re: Change of transmission?

I'd worry more about the differential and axles than the transmission proper
