Bill Leavy gets my vote for MVP.

Hype had NOTHING to do with it.

It would have been a LOT closer game, with quite possibly a different outcome, if the refereeing were even halfway decent--and I was mildly rooting for Bettis and the Steelers.

Even my wife, who hates football, started rooting for the Seahawks, recognizing how they were getting hosed on every big turn.

If you weren't paying attention, Bill Leavy was the head referee.

Check the poll: http://www.thesuperbowlwasfixed.com/

Found that on the ESPN NFL board.

Currently:

Do you feel the Super Bowl was fixed?

Yes 83.00% (83)
No 13.00% (13)
Maybe 4.00% (4)

Total Votes: 100

it's amazing how quickly things are formed on the internet. im especially happy that i'm not one of the few that thought it was rigged.

Re: Worst Superbowl EVER.

it definitely wasn't 'rigged'. missed calls, fine. anyway, agreed, coulda been a closer game, coulda been a different outcome, but you know what? i don't care! i just got richer, and im out to blow it all off partying!

Was I one of the only people that didn't give a rat's ass and checked in here and there and finally after halftime said "fuck it" and never checked in again?

If this game was rigged though, show me some plays to and talk about some calls that seemed really out there. Rigged is this past year's Texas Tech/OU game. If some calls were like the ones in that game then I'll agree with you.

Re: Worst Superbowl EVER.

The big plays I think most people will be talking about were the offensive PI in the endzone and the Pittsburg TD that was reviewed and stood.

That PI call was a little pathetic. It was a light push which technically fits the definition, but I'd say Pittsburg got away with more then that on other plays. If it wern't a TD, I doubt it would have been called PI, and if a ref wasn't right there, I also doubt it would have been PI. Probably not "rigging" just being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

I honestly didn't get a great view at the reviewed TD, but from what I saw I'd say the QB didn't quite make it. Maybe it was too close to call so the play was held. It was a tough call.

I think its hard to say that Pittsburg played a better game then Seattle, especially in the first half. Pittsburg got some lucky breaks, and Seattle fell apart or got penalties when they needed big plays. Something can also be said by how mismanaged Seattle's runs were at the end of the 2nd and 4th.

I think its rediculous to say it was rigged, but there might have been a slight bias towards Pittsburg. Overall, not a great Superbowl.

On the bright side, I really liked the commercial where the guy kicked the dinosaur then got stepped on.

and that's why i stopped watching it during halftime, and started concentrating on other things...such as doing my laundry....i already knew the outcome just by watching those b.s. calls

I was wondering why Ed Hoculy wasn't reffing the game...now i know it's because he would have made the right calls.

Re: Worst Superbowl EVER.

How about those two false starts in the beginning of the game for the Steelers? Those were pretty big plays and they had to punt because of those. The touchdown by Roth...not gonna be able to spell it all out..but his touchdown was close, I'd have rather them turned it around, because either way the Steelers would have scored there, but the ball did go over the white line when he was in the air, but I would have called it back just for the fact that he moved it into the endzone. It wasn't rigged IMO. The Seahawks also had plenty of times to score and screwed up without getting penalties. Two missed kicks??? C'mon guys...
