3S-GTE build pics

I bought my '92 Alltrac a little over a month ago. The motor was done for.. it had been driven around for a while on a blown head gasket, and then it sat for several months.. so lots of rust on the engine. Needless to say, I picked it up for a great price. I've been working on rebuilding the motor over the past month. I'll start first with what I started with.. and end with where I'm at now.

Shortblock from 1st gen 3S. Bored .040 over, Wiseco 9:1 pistons, Eagle rods, machined crank, king race bearings throughout.

Yeah, well I can't complain.. I got the whole kit (tubular manifold, 20G turbo, external wastegate, and downpipe) for $300..

I've had the car for 5 weeks. Worked on it in my spare time.. I'm a full time student and I work full time. Also had the help of a couple of close friends.

Right now, low-mid 200hp area with stock-10psi. I still need to do a front mount intercooler conversion, 850cc injectors, fuel rail, fuel pressure regulator, and an engine management system.. then I'll crank the boost up to 25+psi.. and make mid 300's to 400hp.

Re: 3S-GTE build pics

The top must be self painted. Whats really impressive is that vip got the 20G turbo/wastegate/downpipe/manifold kit only for 300 bucks... was the downpipe custom made to fit or not? I want to see the intercooler piping in the making...thats the most fun part. kudooos.

Re: 3S-GTE build pics

Yeah, I did the valve cover myself. Cleaned with lots of degreaser lol.. polished it with several wheels on a grinder. Masked off the places that I wanted to have the "polished" look.. then painted with the same stuff i painted the block with.
