W.I.P. Dale Pulde's MillerWarrior funny car

Hi,

some of you know me from the street and show cars but this time I will make this kitt:

This is the Pontiac Firebird Funnycar from Dave Pulde. It's a very old kitt (1985) but it still looks great. The manufactor is Monogram and the scale is 1:24.

I'll build this car just OOB but with a few nice details especially on the engine!

Here are some pics of the box inside:

BTW: I bought this one for only 7 euro

Comments are welcome

Kris.

Re: W.I.P. Dale Pulde's MillerWarrior funny car

Finally I did some progress to this kitt.

I builded the KeithBlack engine together so I can do details later.
I drilled a hole in the distributor tan and made the holes in the valvecaps.
This week I hope to add the sparkplugwire on it.

I also use a braided wire for the oil and coolant wire.

I also have given the cilinderblock a wash with tamiya smoke.

Yor off to a good start. The biggest challenge on that kit will be the decals. They are thisk and don't respond well to setting solutions. It won't damage them though so you can still use it.Just be patient and take your time.I,ve built some old Monogram drag cars from that era. They build up nicely.

Been working on the engine yesterday.

I added the sparkplug wires and the driving belt:

Hope you like it!

Re: W.I.P. Dale Pulde's MillerWarrior funny car

I really like to build this dragster

That's why I wanted to paint the body.

But first I painted the frame in black with a clear coat as finish.

While this was drying I picked the diffrential and also painted it in black.

The exhausts where painted in metallic blue and than with tamiya smoke. Especially in the corners.

Than it was time to paint the body.
I used 1 lay of primer and 4 lays of red. 3 days later I masked the body to paint the rearwindow and the 2 things on the frontbump.

Now I have to sand the body a little bit and polish it. Than I can put the decals on it and clear coat the whole body.

Re: W.I.P. Dale Pulde's MillerWarrior funny car

The black patches on the front are grilles on the real car.

Re: W.I.P. Dale Pulde's MillerWarrior funny car

Allright

I did some little scrachtwork :P

The cooler looks not realistic enough so I cut the tube away en placed braided wire.

On the pics it doesn't show the fine structure. Now it looks like it has a thick structure.

Than I did some work on the frame. The frontbump is installed, fire extinquisher (don't know how to write :P) etc. Look for the pics yourself:

Than I sanded the body to remove the orangepeel. I sanded it with waterproof 1200 and than waxed it with tamiya polish and sonax pearl shine.
Than I added some BMF on the body and painted the windowtrims.

Now it's time to add the decals on it and after that I will spray some lays of clear coat.

Kris.
