Question small oil leak

I have noticed spots of oil on the driveway - the oil seems to be on the passenger side of the car and a bit smaller than a saucer plate. This amount of oil on the driveway seems to accumulate overnight - say from 5pm to 7am. What could be causing this leak? Its definately oil. Ive had both seals replaced when I had a more major oil leak. It stopped but the problem has come back again after being in at the mechanic twice now....getting frustrated.

Also what could be causing my steering wheel to shake over 80kms, Ive had a wheel balance and alignment twice over and the left rotor replaced, cv joints and bearings done and checked?

Any help would be appreciated....
I have a honda prelude 94, non vtech, auto.....

Re: small oil leak

On the oil situation: do you use synthetic oil? Synthetic actually wears out the seals and such faster than just regular plain oil. If you're using synthetic change it out to regular oil.

As for the shaking... I remember someone told me something once about why the steering wheel shakes but I forget what it is right now. I'll repost if it comes back to me.

Re: small oil leak

I just get the gas station to check the oil and put more in and they just grab it off the shelf, Ill watch out for the diferent types of oil next time....Thanks

As for the shake in steering no mechanic can fix this problem its so bizarre! Its not a terrible shake but a niggly vibration enough to notice something is up (over 80kms), no noise comes from the car at all whilst driving and the whole front doesnt shake either- it seems to stem from the steering wheel.

Smile Re: small oil leak

hi bro, about the leaking could be the distributor o-ring, (can u send us a few pics to know exactly the location of the leak?) I had a very small leak from the distributor (the top of the tranny, part of the starter, and all the plugs for the sensors were covered with oil), it's pretty simple to do it urself. About the shaking i have the same problem, I think it could be because of the bushing from the front suspension needs to be replace. I haven't done it yet but I might do it oneday. The only solution for me by now is to go fast jeje..it gets better that way :-) lol..let me know if anything.

Re: small oil leak

Hey I think Im having blimin bad luck with this stupid car, the car broke down the other night, I was just driving and the motor light on the dash came on and it shut off. When I went to try and start it - it turned over but wouldnt start. It was like the petrol was coming thru but no spark.

Anyways I had it towed to the mechanic and he said I need a new distributor as it has no spark. Do ya think its related to the oil leak? How much would this cost?

All I know is the oil leaks from the front passenger side of underneath the car. I havent addressed the shake because of this delay - but will keep you posted:-)

Thumbs up Re: small oil leak

Hi bro sorry to heard that and let me tell u something stay away from mechanics!!! they don't know nothing. If not spark is getting to the engine, should be the distributor, to replace it is pretty easy, the only thing that u might need to do after that is get it back in time with a gun for timing. Check on ebay for any distributor for a low price. Also if u gonna do that..replace the o-ring from the distributor too. If anything hit me back...1

note: if u can send me some pics of the engine to check the leak...will be great. I have had all kind of problems with my engine too F22 like urs..it's normal on a car with almost 206k miles.. :-) but thanks God i have fixed it all by myself.
