Car Jacked...Alarm Wiring Mess...Need HELP.

Hello everyone,
Hoping that someone can assist me with my car alarm wiring mess. Car was recently jacked and recovered minus all things with value inside and out. Bastards gutted my interior and cut my alarm wiring to disable the system. Currently rebuilding my car but not sure how to tackle the alarm.

I have the Viper 300 ESP alarm system.

First photo shows the heavy gauge black/white wire, part of the OEM wiring harness on the dash. I understand that I simply need to connect the wire together on this one.


Second photo shows all the loose cut wires leading from the alarm brain unit. Yellow, green, black, and red, all medium gauge wires. One small gauge black wire with tape...could this be spliced somewhere?...perhaps to the black/white wire on the first photo? Tried to look hard around under the dash but failed to see any other wires that the rest might be connected to. Could they be unused wires?


Third photo shows the alarm relay fuse line. One fuse line wire is red and the other is white. I have two fuses, 15amp (blue) and 10amp (red). Which fuse goes to which?

Did you buy the alarm yourself or did it come with the car? If you bought it yourself..find the owners manual and figure out where each wire needs to connect. Every alarm system is differernt, so unless someone here has the exact same alarm...it hard to help much.

Thanks TurboLaxx for your reply. Unfortunately, I checked out the directed link before my post and no installation guide to offer. Only owners guide, which covers the topic on how to fully utilize the remote. The Viper system was installed out of state and did not come originally with the car. Aftermarket alarm normally does not come with install guide, you buy, the speed shop install, then you drive off. I'll call the 800 number for directed, inc. during business hours and see what they can do for me. Again, thanks.

I'll tackle the fuses first. The 15 amp goes in the red wire fuse holder, the 10 amp goes in the white. The red wire will be your constant 12 V source to supply power to the alarm brain. The white goes to + parking lights. The yellow wire goes to TRUE ignition ( ie: wire comes on when you turn the key into the accessory position, and doesn't loose voltage as you crank the car). The heavy gauge green and black wires are your starter kill wires. Connect either one side to either one side of the vehicles already cut starter wire. The small gauge black wire is ground. There may be a wire color code on the back of the alarm unit that'll tell you what each color from each harness of the alarm is for. Hope that helps.

Thanks InstallTech for your assistance to my alarm wiring mess. I did look at the brain closely after you indicated where the wiring info are located. I was originally reluctant to remove the tape around it, afraid to disconnect anything else the tape was holding. See pics below:

Starter wire...(heavy gauge blk/wh wire on first photo?), I simply splice both ends of green and black (heavy gauge) wires to the same starter wire? Kindly clarify...sorry about this question. Does it still apply after showing you the wiring harness info of the alarm brain? "I'd rather be stupid for 5 minutes than be stupid for the rest of my life"...that's my personal motto.

Hoping you can guide me better whith these info handy. I really appreciate anything that you can offer. Already been victimized by car thieves and spending too much as it is to rebuild the car. Trying to tackle anything else simple in order to save some bucks. Again, THANKS.

Yeah, sorry. Yes. The black with white is the starter wire for the car. It doesn't matter what side of the black/white you connect either the green or black to. Just connect the heavy guage green to one side of the black/white and the black to the other. Let me know if I can get you any more info.

So what you're saying is that I don't even have to connect the starter wire together to begin with. No splicing job necessary. One end of the starter wire connects directly to green, and the other end of starter wire connects to black? Just confirming.

Yep. When the alarm is armed, a signal is sent to the relay that controls those wires to "cut" the car's starter wire.

InstallTech...need more of your assistance.
This job is turning into a big project. Like what I mentioned before, they jacked the car, trashed the dashboard, jammed the ignition switch, and interiors are all gone.
I'm in the process of replacing the dashboard, the ignition switch and re-connect the alarm unit. I decided to relocate my alarm unit elsewhere where it could not be easily located and disarm. Also I'm adding a back up alarm battery. My question here is how does the brain normally situated (held in place)? The instruction indicates that the brain unit comes built in with shock sensor and screwing it in place is not recommended. Will the use of double stick tape be the same as screwing it in place or do I just leave the damn thing dangling, taped to wires or something? Another question, since I still have no wire tester (low on funds). I noticed the wires on the ignition, (first photo of initial posting.) The blk/wht is the starter kill wires as you indicated. There are two other wires (covered with electrical tapes), one is solid white, the other wht/blk. Is it safe to assume that the solid white is where the red wire (constant power) of alarm was originally spliced into and the wht/blk is where the yellow (switch on power) was spliced? Are you familiar with DEI 520T back up battery? Just purchased one from Ebay and curious on how to run the wires for that. Thanks again for your input.
