3000gt burning oil. PLEASE HELP!!

I have a 94 3000gt and it burns oil when i stop at lights/traffic. once i accelerate, blue oil smoke comes out. what is happening??? this is the second time its occuring. what can be causing this and does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?? I change my oil every 3000 miles with synthetic and dont even run my car hard. I NEED HELP!!!!please email me directly to help or contact me [email protected] . thanks.

mY CAR WAS HEADING UP AND I TOUGHT IT WAS BURNING OIL BUT THE HEAD GASKETS WERE THE PROBLEM. tHEY COST ABOUT 80.00. pROBABLY THATS THE PROBLEM. dONT USE sYLICON COUSE THAT SHIT DONT WORK EVEN DOUGH ITS CHEAPER ITS NOT WORTH IT.

It sounds like your valve seals are leaking in your heads. This is allowing oil to leak past the valves and into the combustion chamber which causes your blue smoke. My valve seals leak too. When I put on my new downpipe with cat eliminator mine would smoke like that. Then I welded on a 3" high flow cat and that nearly stopped the smoking. It will smoke a little until the cat heats up but after that I dont really notice it. I have heard of people adding a small amount of Lucas Synthetic to their oil and that stops the smoking so you may want to look into that also.

You most likely need to replace your valve stem seals as mentioned above.

My friend Julian's valve stem seals are pretty much shot, and we'll be doing his soon. Just remember, "if it smells like ass, somethings broken"

thanks for all the replies. i am bout to give up on this car! the first time, i just put a used engine in and it fixed it for a year or so and now its back to smoke again. ill try to lucas oil first and maybe a thicker oil just to get by. its too embarassing to act like spy hunter and leave a car fart to the person behind you. anyone know about the cost to replace the valve seals?

a mechanic from a shop told me that it could be bad cylinders also! if this is the case, i should blow up my car i think. it would cost a fortune!!! does anyone know a shop in sacramento who is experienced with 3000gt and honest and cost wise??

It's not bad cylinders. It's most likely your valve stem seals. It is a common problem with higher mileage 3Ss. As for shops in your area, try asking here:

If its only from a stop after idling its valve seals. If it smokes all the time then its rings.
