Signal, DRL, headlight possible ground issue???
I have a 97 Sunfire GT and have been having some problems lately. First it started by all lights works then in a 1 week span my low beams and DRL didnt work but Highs and signals work. Then all worked for a day except DRL's and now the signals dont work but the others do. I have to get a mechanical and the autoshop says that there might be a ground issue under the battery box or could be the actual light/signal switch. They never looked at it yet but say they heard of issues like this with the Sunfires before.
I just want any of your insite about people facing an issue like this and if you found the problem and fixed it. Thanx |

Checked the harness, and found no problems. I replaced the stalk/switch, and all was corrected.(All major chain parts stores have them)

Re: Signal, DRL, headlight possible ground issue???
I had the identical problem with 01 Sunfire it is 100 percent ground issue. wire guage is too thin so u will probably find many breaks in the wire harness up front. check near the plug under the intake.

I have a 97 sunfire also, had the same prob as you. Sounds dumb but check the fuses. This car has 2 headlight fuses if one burns out all hell breaks loose. Hope this helps.
