So i was going to take my car in to get scanend. As I am having trouble.
But I can get this scanner for $40.00, and it costs 37.00 to have it scanned. Will this work: http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortmen...=1140812181047 |

The link doesn't work for me but make sure your car is OBD II before you buy an OBD II scanner. If it is OBD I then you can cross connect two pins and read the codes on the check engine light. Some 1995 cars have OBD I and some are OBD II.

Argghh I went and bought it this afternoon and it the manual says it works upto 1993 Pontiacs? So OBD ii started in 1996 and this thing only works on 1993 and older what the heck works on a 1995?

My understanding of the GA's is the 1996 + are OBDII and your's should be OBDI. Check with your dealership. Either they use the Tech I or the Tech II to scan your car.
Did you try to connect the unit and read the codes? If all else fails, take it back. Crappy tire is good for that..LOL |
