Camaro Valve Seals Question 305 V-8

I am rebuilding a 305 -1991 Camaro roller cam engine . I got new original type valve seals for it in a plastic bag with NO instructions ...The seals I got come with 32 little black O-rings that is 2 for each valve ! ...Where do these go ? UNDER the seals ? Over the seals ? or where ? I want to get these in there correctly ... Thanks guys ! Retired Bob still turnin wrenches !

If the seal is an O-ring type, it is installed just after compressing the spring but before the valve locks.

Re: Camaro Valve Seals Question 305 V-8

You pretty well nailed it, except the water pump and T/B.

if it were me, I'd just get a complete engine gasket set, that way you have all of the ones you need, including the ones you forget and the ones you may not use now, but probably will later.

Question for you, do you have access to a lathe? There's a neat trick with the cam sprocket that really wakes the motor up.

****Oh, also since you're pulling the radiator, now would be a good time to replace ALL the hoses, upper, lower, heater, trans, etc.
