Another ipod issue

on my old ipod 3rd gen 15gb with scroll wheel, it tries to boot but comes up with a folder with an exclamanation point. when i plug it into my PC, FireWire will acknoledge something attatched, but doesn't show up in itunes or My Computer. In the device manager, it shows up, but says that "this device cannot start" I can get it to re-boot (still doing the same thing), but cannot get it into restore mode.

Re: Another ipod issue

i think that if you dig around on apples site, you might be able to find a tutorial on how to clean the disk.

Re: Another ipod issue

Might need to contact apple. I believe they address that problem in the owners manual. If you restart it and it still does the Folder with an exclamation point.

Holding the middle buttong and the menu buttong should restart it. If it doesnt work after that im guessing you'll have to send it in.
