Re: Engine Swap

Yep... Basically the same as a D16Z6 or D15B VTEC swap... Give or take a few things... As someone whos done a D15B VTEC (OBD1) swap into an OBD0 car, do it right! Convert to OBD1! Do not try and run this off of an RPM activated switch with the stock ECU...

Actually they are all about the same, the D15B is said to have a tad more because of a more aggressive cam shaft... But even there its not much, they both with-in 3~5 HP of each other... 125~130HP...

Re: Engine Swap

I like the Y8 a little more than D15B, I prefer the location of the dipstick, and the extra displacment over the D15b... it's all personal preference though.

little features like those I mentioned make it better for turbocharging!

Yea, the displacement is definately an issue aswell... Not much, but its noticeable... I went from a D16A6 to the D15B and I definately notice the fact that I have to keep the revs higher than I used too... Reason is a tad less torque... Again, its not much, but its noticeable... Another fact is that the D15B is JDM, and was never released here in the states... So finding replacement parts can get tricky if u dont know where to look... But I do love my D15B tho...
