h22a harness
ok, i've read about the swap, h22a into a 95 civic, and i have decided thats what im goin for. but one question i searched for but couldnt find is, why cant you use the stock prelude wiring harness? if it is an obd1, shouldnt it be able to plug into the civic one? or is it totally different? and is there anywhere anyone knows of a "full" swap guide? i've searched and only found partial....
oh... and does anyone have feedback for jazzpro for a full h22 swap... free shipping.. thanks, pat

Re: h22a harness
I honestly don't have a clue whether the h22a harness would work or not, it's been a long time since I've looked at an H22a harness. I've never heard of anyone using it, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't work. But if it's a JDM H22a, then quite a bit of it will end up being ass-backwards and wouldn't work.
Here's some swap info: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=650329 http://h22hybrid.20m.com/ Also look around on honda-tech; the '92-'95 Civic forum, and click the FAQ sticky at the top (there are quite a few links there). I'd go with a well known company if I were you. Check out www.hmotorsonline.com, they seem to have the best price for the entire swap (with the correct mounts and axles). MY friend bought and engine from a company he never heard of before, and so did his friend. Both ended up getting shitty engines with missing and broken parts, and had even more broken parts after driving it for a while (like my friend's LSD exploding in his h22a tranny and blowing a hole in his tranny housing). |

Re: h22a harness
u need to do the shifter mod to go from linkages to cable, modify the trans mount backet on the car, has to be cut...need to use ur harness, need the axles also, and dont forget h22 engines are hevy change the suspension to handle properly with it ur front end will be heavy with no weight in the back, so dont turn to fast...

Re: h22a harness
got h&r all the way around.... i think it b ok, but my main ? still wasnt answered... are the lude and civic plugs totally different for the engine wiring? so its not a direct plug and play. ive read that you need to cut and mod some of the wires, or can get it sent to hasport, but no-one ever explains why you cant just use the stock lude harness and adapt it to the civic

Ok. I think I may have found the answer. Check out these 2 pages: http://www.h22hybrid.20m.com/photo2.html http://www.h22hybrid.20m.com/photo3.html This is just from looking at these pics (which should be correct), but if you compare both harness pics; the Civic harness seems to have quite a few more plugs on it than the Prelude one (5 by my quick count). Also on a side note. How much is your car lowered? Most people have problems breaking axles when their cars are lowered more than 2 inches. |
