98 jetta gl good deal or lemon?

Hey, Found a 98 jetta gl with 24,317 miles on it with a price of $3,995. Don't know anyting about it besides the fact that it has a/c and its automatic. VIN 3VWRA81H0WM124876 What do you think, is it a good deal or a lemon?

why does the 98 have the 95 grill? and only 24k miles must mean engine replacement, or rollback. to detect rollback, look at the odometer if it says total : than the mileage, there is no rollback. If it doesn't say total: there is a rollback. also look at the tires, seats etc. if there in bad shape that could also mean engine replacement. it is possible that it may only have 24k. but why would they sell so cheap? if your going to make a 3500 investment shell out the 9 bucks for the carfax, or tell them to show you a carfax

Isn't carfax 20? Well anyways, the seat looked like it had 100k but I'm not gonna rant, I just walked away, the place was shady! All the cars were wrecked, or f'ed up.
