Radio Upgrade

Has anyone out there replaced the stock cd player? If so, if anyone has the stock unit laying around I'd be interested in it. You may think I'm crazy but I like the look of the factory stereo. Thanks.

If you do get a used factory Aveo radio make sure you get the radio unlock card that came with the vehicle

Later production Aveos didn't have the access code I think around middle of production for 2004, My 2004 Aveo has no code and is unprotected. GM found the code to be unusable, was told that if there was code it was on tag on radio, dealer said that if my car had code they would find it for me free, didn't have code. I disconnected battery several times and radio still works.

Re: Radio Upgrade

I guess mine was later production of 2004, because mine came with a card.

Mine didnt have the card. Dealer told me that it was needed ONLY IF the radio had a code set for it, and there would be a red light flashing on the front. Not on mine...

I have a Pioneer DEH-P47DH AM/FM/CD player that I salvaged from my truck rollover. It still works great, because the damn thing kept playing even while the truck was upside down...PM me if interested.
