Third Time Is a Charm

Well, I finally have another Caprice 9c1. Hopefully, since this one is number 3 for me, it will last longer than number 2 (lasted only 3 weeks). As usual, if someone is interested in posting for me (specifically silicon212), just sound off here and I will e-mail pictures. Here is some stats:

9c1
5.7L 350-cid L05
Oil, Transmission, and Power Steering coolers
Power doors, windows, and mirrors
Light blue interior
Seats with cloth front of seat/vinyl rear of seat

My email light is on. What year is it? Is this the '93 you were referring to in another post?

HLandin,

Posting your own pics is easy using a Photobucket account.
Sign up for a free photobucket account: www.photobucket.com

Up load your pics - they will automatically be sized to fit to photobucket's limits. Then link to them in your post here(you can clip and paste from right below the photobucket pic you want to use). They will show up in your AF post so long as you don't delete them from your photobucket account.

This:

without the 3 dots in the [IM...G] >[IMG] becomes this:

Re: Third Time Is a Charm

Nice. I like the color. I think it's kinda funny that your HU in the old caprice is mounted the same way mine was until I made that fiberglass plate. Looks much more professional now Also, please get different rims...

Re: Third Time Is a Charm

My objective was to keep the car as accurate as possible. Those were the hubcaps offered that model year. Everyone might remember the hubcaps with a black center and the word Caprice in gold were offered on the 1989 to 1992 model years. 1994-1996, you had a choice of either the bowtie hubcaps (seen on my '93) or the bolt-on center caps. Personally, I like the bolt-on center caps, or the hubcaps with the black center with Caprice better, but like I said, my objective was to remain accurate to the model year.

Re: Third Time Is a Charm

Yeah, I was sorta disappointed that it didn't have a limited slip rear end. But none of the Caprices I've seen or driven so far have had a limited slip rear end except maybe the blue 1990 I had for 3 weeks. The guy I bought the blue 1990 from told me it had limited slip but the SPID label was gone from the trunk (kinda weird, looked like one had never been there, definitely not painted over), so I don't know for sure. I would like limted slip, and I know I could switch out the diff, but I'm not sure I want to do that.

As far as the hubcaps go, I do like them but I like the ones with Caprice in the center, or the bolt-on center caps better; however, I want to keep it accurate to the model year, so those hubcaps are staying on.

One more thing: this car did not come with rubber matting (the first I've had so far). I'm still debating keeping the carpet, or having it pulled and replacing it with rubber matting.
