Nice race for the 3000gt

Well I got bored and we had nothing to do today so I decided to try and take on my roomates 2002 Mustang GT. His is manual with a CAI. I am atx and have just an intake. We start on my grounds around 27 mph where I am in the sweet spot of my first gear........high enough rpm's yet plenty of room to go. I honk 3 times for the first race and we go from about 25 mph- 67 or so. When we first punch it I gain about 4 feet on him (which I thought was hilarious) and then when I started to reach the very top of first gear and beggining of second he passed me with my front bumper at the rear of his door. Second race.....EXACT same results. I was surprised at the outcome though to say the least. We are going to try it agian some other day but for now this is it.

Re: Nice race for the 3000gt

Nice race. You did way better than i thought you would. If you had a shift kit or transmission boost controller it would have prolly been closer even, cause our 1-2 shift seems kinda slow. Did you have it in first or did it have to drop? cause that screwes me over sometimes when i have to let it drop from 3rd or even 2nd. Well nice race and just make sure he remembers who owns him in the parking lot (lol you know what i mean)

Re: Nice race for the 3000gt

Haha, yeah. I just held it in first and when we both started like I said I immediately gained about 3 or 4 feet on him and then I held that all the way till I shifted into second and then he passed me and we shut down a little before 70 and I my front bumper was at the rear of his door. I am looking for a digi camera that we can record it next time we race so maybe I'll get a vid in here.

Re: Nice race for the 3000gt

Glad to see someone around here appreciates a good race .

j/k

Like I said if we can get our hands on a digi camera I'll get it on video for sure. And if I do not get my 3/s racing him I could at least try and give you guys a vid of a GTP vs him.

Haha no, as of right now it looks like there is a very good chance I am going to be buying a Grand Prix GTP in the near future. I said if/when I race him with that I would try and get some vids.

Re: Nice race for the 3000gt

The way it looks now I probably am. It has broken down far too many times. It is on it's 3rd motor 2nd tranny, 2nd ecu along with various other things that have gone wrong so I think I am going to sell it for now.

Re: Nice race for the 3000gt

Well i hate to say it, but its prob. a good idea. I mean, if you put too much money into a base or sl then you could have just bought a vr4!

but I dont want to see my crew member disappear!

Re: Nice race for the 3000gt

You have my word I will not disappear from the 3/s section. I pretty much know most everyone who posts in here. And with the money I have spent on my SL I could have easily bought a VR4. I just added ya to my AIM to liquid.
