Re: Coolant pump
the V6 is easy as pie! If the pumps a leaking chances are a new gaskets not going to fix it.
Is it driping from one of the holes on the body of the pump? If you remove the pump, theirs the 4 bolts that hold the pully on to the pump, and under there is 4-5 bolts( I think they are all 10mm) that acually hold the pump on. If the impeller is damaged or gone, replace the pump, they arent that expensive, if it all lookss good inside and the impelers in good shape and isnt sliping on the shaft it might be ok to reuse it. Nothing lasts forever.

Re: Coolant pump
These pumps are cheap and if it is leaking you will have the same amount of money or time in changing the gasket as you will the entire pump. Not worth the hastle just to change gaskets new pump is the only way to go!

Re: Coolant pump
No special tools are needed to replace the pump other than basic hand tools.

Re: Coolant pump
may need that damn pully tensioner tool.
You might be able to get the belt loose with a 3/8s ratchet , the square end fits into a square hole on the tensioner. You just lift it up(or down) and the belt will slide off. THeres more room in that area on your 95 3.1 then on the newr 3.4s. The 3.4s hav a engine mount right in the way..... Go figure
