rear drum brake bleeder screws

I just replaced my front rotors and pads and was about to bleed the whole system on my 1991 Camaro. When I got to the rear drum brakes, the bleeder screws are reccessed in a metal bracket on the backing plate and there's no way of getting a box wrench or flare nut wrench on it. What the hell kind of system is this? Dealer only servicing or what? OBTW, the front bleeder screws were pointed right at the struts with only about a 1/2" clearance, had a hell of a time holding the bleeder hose on there!

This is my newest Bowtie, if this kind of engineering is on the newer Chevys, I'm going back to the old cars that can be fixed with a McGyver pocket knife and a little help from the A-Team!!!!!!!!!!!!!
