wiring harness interchange '86 f150

I have an '86 F150 with a 302 that got a cab swap a few years ago. when the guy put the new cab on he cut the original engine harness. I'm trying to figure out what year harnesses are interchangeable so i can get this truck running again. If I'm not mistaken the cab is an 87-88 with the same year harness. I have the harness from that cab but I don't want to go through the trouble of attempting to attach it if it won't work. I would appreciate any knowledge on the subject. Thanks.

I believe the 87 and 88 wiring harness will work because the 86 302 has fuel injection.

The parts man at a Ford dealer could look in the parts book and tell you what year wiring harnesses are the same. He should also be able to cross reference any other issues you may have.

If anyone has a parts truck with a 302 please let me know. I'd reaaly like to find a matching one. I'll look at the part # on the original harness tonight.

I believe it is 1992 and up with a mass air flow sensor. You will not find one at an auto salvage yard, the wiring harness is cut up and the wrecked vehicle went in the crusher because of the price of crush these days
