Why is it so hard to find cypress green paint?
so the other day some jerk off backed into my car while i was in school and left me some nice little scratch marks on my front bumper. I went to advance auto parts the other day looking for some touch up paint (the scratches are not very deep, the dude must have barely nicked it) to cover the scratches. But they didnt have any. Duplicolor doesnt make cypress green touch up paint. But they do make "eucalyptus green" color paint. I really dont feel like spending 20 bucks on an autosharp pen. Is eucalyptus green the same color as cypress green? thanks.

most touch up paints you'll find at advance/pepboys/wal-mart/autozone will be for domestics. Try the honda or acura dealer or any touch up paint website.

Re: Why is it so hard to find cypress green paint?
i get my touchup paint at walmart/autozone ect..ive seen honda/acura ones...but then again ive also had a bad expierence with dealer stuff..i had a dark blue 95 civic..bought touchup paint from the dealer and it didnt match my color(but the color codes matched) the duplicolor matches very well if you can find them. or even try a bodyshop/paint shop they can make pens/spray cans..ect..anfd those usually match very well too

the paint usually wont even make the scratch look much better. it comes out very "rough" looking.

Re: Why is it so hard to find cypress green paint?
I have found that you can use paint thinner with most touch up paint (at least the kind you get from the dealer which is very thick). It makes the touch up paint much more manageable when applying. You do need to keep applying it about 3 or 4 times before it looks halfway decent.

My 97 Prelude is Eucalyptse Green and I think its different. Ive saw the integras and they are quite a bit darker when it comes to that green color.

Re: Why is it so hard to find cypress green paint?
I work at a Acura Dealership.
After awhile, the main warehouses will get rid of thier stock after about 7 years. You can try and see if a dealer has some. If they do a search and find that is not around anymore, you'll have too go to a bodyshop and have them mix it for ya. But the warehouses only keep certian things around for long periods of time. |
