2000 villager front end sqwauk noise

I know this has been addressed before, but I don't know if there was ever a good answer. Our 2000 Estate has this noise that when you are going around a turn, or going in or out of a sloped drive from the street, has a sqwauk noise in the front end. It happened shortly after warranty ran out, now has 106k on it. I have replaced lower ball joints, struts and upper strut mounting plates. Even the CV joints have been replaced. It still does it. ANY IDEAS?????

I had the exact same symptoms as you described. I replaced both front driveaxles with rebuilt ones, and that took care of the problem.

Good luck

Thanks for the response, but I have done the axles as well, with no change in the goose sqwauk noise. Any other ideas????

Did you replace the CV joints youself? If not, are you sure that it wasn't only the boots that were replaced? When I replaced the driveaxles 3 weeks ago, I did the job myself because long time ago I had bad experience (on another vehicle) where the autoshop was supposed to replace the CV joint and the boot, but I soon found out they only replaced the busted boot.

My noise went away after the drive axles were replaced, but I cannot be sure if it was the axles or due to the disassembly/ assembly process.

sounds like it might be your stabilizer bar bushings and links

Re: 2000 villager front end sqwauk noise

I appreciate the responses!! I did the axles myself. I also had replaced the lower control arm on the left, because I was sure those bushings was were the noise was coming from, and you have to replace the entire arm. So I did, along with lower balljoint, still had no effect. If it is in the stabilzer/sway bushings, is there a fix? Or do I need to replace all of the bushing? THANKS!!
