Unhappy 89 Formula flowing like mud!

OK, just in case you've missed my last posts: my 89 Formula was in an accident and now it's driving terribly. When I punch the accelerator, very little happens. My RPMs struggle to go over 35k even in neutral. Take offs are very slow. Old people go around me because I'm beaking 20 by the time I'm crossing the intersection, then I creep up to 45mph. I have to warm the car up even in nice weather, and once I put her into reverse or drive, the RPMs drop and the engine will stall if I try to take off too soon.
I'm getting a code 33 (MAF or ECM problem), so I replaced the MAF. No change. There was very little pressure coming out of the tail pipes, so I installed 2 hi flow cats and a cat-back exhaust. Significant improvment, but still creeping along. I thought maybe a stored error code might be affecting performance, so I disconnected the battery (negative terminal) and reconnected to clear the codes, but no improvment.
Where do I look now? Could it be a relay to the MAF? Timing way off? Something happening before the cats? Fuel delivery problem?

If you're still getting the MAF code, try changing the relay. I'm not sure where it is on the V* but my 2.8 was locater in front of the battery. I got the MAF code and replaced the relay, the code went away.

Thanks, I'll look into that. I was thinking that something got knocked loose in the accident, but with an 89, I've had other relays go bad in the past too.

make sure there are no codes for o2 showing your running lean. That's what happened to mine, and i had symptoms similar to yours.
