Interior Lights....Help!!

quick mechanical question for you all. I just purchased my next project car and I found out that the interior lights do not work, I checked all of the fuses and none of them were blown. The Headlights work but none of the interior lights work, the dash lights, gauge cluster, overhead light do not work. The car is a 1997 honda accord, any other suggestions as to where I can look?

the break lights work when I press the brakes but the rear lights don't work when the headlights are on, only the brake lights

Well.... let us get technical.
After a visual inspection the fuse may still look good, put a tester in parallel with the fuse. If it lights up - the fuse is bad!

The same way you should check fusible links located under hood.

Regards,
Sam

Re: Interior Lights....Help!!

I find it hard to believe that all of the bulbs are burned out in the gauges, and I am not so inclined to take apart the entire dash to figure it out until I have explored all other avenues. I got to thinking, what about the dimmer control switch, if everything works unless those controlled by that switch then that would make sense...wouldn't it? Does anyone know which fuse controls the gauge cluster and/or dimmer switch.

Re: Interior Lights....Help!!

Well, you could at least check the dome light bulb.

It sounds like you have more than one problem. Since you only just purchased the car, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if things went wrong one by one, and the last owner didn't bother to fix them.
