Complete: Chop-top, V8, Datsun 510

well here she is, finally finished after about a year, well actually 99% complete, as i still need to cut the windows to size (tips for this would be appreciated).
well the kist is the revell tuner series datsun 510 that i chopped the top on by a couple of mm, and i decided to go all out with this one, making my first roll cage that was scratch built, and i decided to throw a flathead V8 in it, just because i wanted it to be different and i had the engine lying around. Rims are some 14" fujimi "shadow spoke wheels". now to the pics (the glue for the headlights was still drying in the pics, thats why its still white)

thanks for lookin

I like the chop. Makes me think of the batmobile, for some reason. What paint did you use for it? Think you might want to try polishing it out? The flathead looks oddly in its place in there. Cool car.

Re: Complete: Chop-top, V8, Datsun 510

i used a can of some factory honda black by duplicolor for the paint.. semi-decent stuff, but i still prefer tamiya sprays over this... and the paint actually has some tiny metallic flakes in it that are very hard to notice... i might try to polish it, but ive never done it before.. you have any tips/ brands i should use?

Actually, I wouldn't polish uncleared metallic paint. But for future reference, the tutorial section has a pretty good tut about using a product called Scratch-X which is just amazing.

Nice idea, but I think it could do with a bit more work to tidy it up.
Some outdoor photos might help, as I feel the flash is spoiling it.

yeah, it is a bit sloppy in alot of areas, but ive had alot for firsts in building and customizing on this one as well... and as for outdoor shots, those might be a while here as it is always raining (i live in british columbia, canada, and we've had rain on every day this month except for maybe 2 days.. )
